Cemetery Upkeep

Mt. Olivet is a community of 6,000 souls and many thousands of surviving family members. We consider you more than customers or clients, we think of you as community members and patrons.

Shared Responsibilities

Mt. Olivet’s responsibility is to provide a peaceful, park-like setting for those resting in peace and for families to visit and reflect for many decades to come. This includes lawn mowing, healthy grass initiatives, seeding, weed control, edging, tree trimming, road maintenance, and other efforts to improve the look of our grounds.

Cemetery patrons are responsible for being good community members and for the proper installation and maintenance of gravestones, markers and their foundations. Gingrich Memorials, listed in Friends of Mt. Olivet, is one resource to consult for installation and repairs, including foundation maintenance.

Patrons are also responsible for the proper display of flowers or other items of affection placed around gravesites. Please do not place stones or other objects around graves that hinder mowing and edging. Please be respectful of neighboring lot owners and keep memorial items tasteful and well-tended.

Quarterly CleanUp Program Relaunch

We ask all patrons to support the relaunch of our quarterly cleanup program when wilted flowers, used vases, soiled flags, and other worn items will be removed from around gravesites. CleanUp dates in 2021 are the weeks of March 15, May 15, July 15, and November 15. More information will be provided via this website and our newsletter.

Thank You

We thank you for your support in beautifying Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Please let us know how we’re doing and how we might better serve you.
