Our Community

We're Part of a Larger Family

Today there are tens of thousands of surviving family and friends of the more than 6,350 souls resting in peace at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. This our Mt. Olivet Family and we’re pleased they are so meaningfully connected with their own families and friends, area churches, organizations, and businesses.

Mt. Olivet Family & Friends Annual Meeting

We thank all who attended the Annual Mt. Olivet Family & Friends Meeting on September 15, 2022. The meeting date for 2023 will be announced soon.  At the 2022 meeting we heard many positive comments about cemetery improvements and received valuable ideas on further enhancements. We appreciated the visit by New Cumberland Mayor, Thad Eisenhower; the story from Police Chief, Joe Spadaccino about former Police Chief James Welch, who died in the line of duty in 1928 and is buried at Mt. Olivet; and Rebecca Sayler’s story about her song, “Behind the Iron Gate”.

Annual Apple Festival Fun

Supporting local families and being a member of the community is part of our ongoing mission, which is why Mt. Olivet is proud to support the New Cumberland Olde Town Association’s Annual Apple Festival. It’s a wonderful way to further connect with our families and meet new friends. We thank all who stop by to say hi.

Trinity UMC 150th Celebration in 2023

Another example of our close relationship to the community… We’re proud that the Trinity United Methodist Church congregation will be gathering at Mt. Olivet in August to celebrate their 150th Anniversary. The commemorative plaque located to the left as you drive up Park Drive into Mt. Olivet speaks to our special connection.
